BIG CHANGES FOR NEWNET!!!!! grin

With many diverse things happening in his life, Nanook is taking an extended sabbatical from NewNet. We wish him the best of luck during this time. Nanook was the founder of NewNet and had a vision of NewNet as a network for the users. Forkup has consented to carry the torch during this absence and will be maintaining the domain and Nanook's vision. The current Network Admins are Forkup, Reznic, Lighten, Kind, and after an absence, we welcome back the experience of Dragonflu.

Subject: WooHoo8 mIRC Client for Newnet UPDATES Posted: July 12, 2009, 03:45:40 PM by reznic

WooHoo8 UPDATES are now available for all users on Newnet (v1.1). grin

You can get the full version with or without mIRC 6.3* or the update file that will update your current version of WooHoo8.

With this version there are some fixes and new features. New features include, but not limited to:
WooHoo Clock - A gadget type clock ran from WooHoo.
WooHoo Mini Browser - A mini type browser that can be ran from the menu or the command line, also, this is a PE type file that can be ran outside of Woohoo.
WooHoo NSLookup - This is a small utility that allows the user to do nslookups on domains and/or IP's. You no longer have to drop to a Windows/Command Window or log onto a linux shell to perform an nslookup. This too is a PE type file that can be ran outside of WooHoo. cheesy

The long awaited, updated WooHoo8 is now available for all users on Newnet.

The new version was made available May 30, 2009. With this version there are alot of fixes and new features.

Its been nearly a year since the last update to WooHoo7 (no longer supported) and is now replaced with this new version.

Woohoo8 works in Windows XP, Windows Vista and the forth coming Windows7 both in x86 and x64.

Many thanks to DragonFlu, BlueFire, CaT, Kind for their input and reports.

And to all the other people that have contributed ideas, suggestions and reports...

(Do You WooHoo ?.... Well Maybe You Should...) cool

Well as the subject suggests there hasn't been much news of late (nearly a year). rolleyes

We have seen servers come and go and the client base seems to be smaller.
We have taken further steps into the spammers to eliminate the 'psyBNC' trojan spamming. Hopefully no one has received this trojan.
On another note, if you get banned from the network you can check in the forums as to what you can do. Generally it is a blacklist of your IP from one of the blacklist groups, ie; spamhaus. You can actually go to their web site and check your IP and also get it removed through the group that set it. Instructions are on that web site.

An AUTOMATED class system has been installed in #chanop for all the classes that we have been offering Monday through Friday. Anyone at anytime may now go to channel #chanop and select one of the classes to view. This is an automated system, therefore there will be no one to assist or answer specific questions.
