I remember newnet from WAY back when. It came about right about the time I stopped contributing to IRC, and found an existance IRL. IRC taught me how to type, but moreover, that select few group of nuts were supportive, interesting, and overall very cool to communicate with.

While I only met a few of them, Notably Heather, JScher, and Jadie, I'm certain that had I met others, I would have been equally astonished. They taught me much, and for that i'm grateful.

ChatZone is, for all intents and purposes Dead. It's a shame really. I assume 'TheZone' is where everyone is hanging out now adays, but I don't recognize many of the regulars there. Is there someplace else the remnants of the oldies are congregating these days? Or has everyone found out that there's more to life than IRC?

Cheers,

Kel

Nobody ever remembers me :( If i had to list everyone i could ever remember from NN, i think i would go over the length restriction of the forum :P

reaper
windex
WhiteDawn of course,
shortcake (that devil of a woman :P)
nanook (whenever he would talk to a mere mortal such as myself)
the #to-warez-is-human crew (still better than uG :P)
Heero
Kristina
Yeti , the bloke who gave me my first O on mw-sisna
Blade
sonik
Kevin of course
the millions of people it seems i have helped in #services.
EddieB
Azrial

the list just goes on & on. i can hardly remember all the names. but do know all of you are part of my extended family and have been with me for well over 11 years, i even rememeber having a "countdown" timer i would display in #chatzone till i was "legal" (18)

them were the days :)

I logged on a lot.

Usually as vim. Sometimes as ibbie. First (and more often lately) as iblis. Heck, I remember dialing into my ISP's shell (didn't know there was such a thing as a packet driver for DOS back then) so I could run that nifty "ircII" thing and thinking it was all the rage that I could talk to people across the world.

Sad to say, IRC is what really pushed me into programming. Making mods/addons for B*tchx, and all.

Not to mention scripting. Gads. All the scripting.

Been busy as crap for the last few (several?) years. Wish I had more time to log on, and chill out.

Glad to see NewNet is still around. Lot of great memories there.
